Episode 1 - Gravity and its Loss - with Basim Magdy

In the universe of the exhibition Nature of Robotics - An Expanded Field, we invite you to join us for In Conversation, a live video discussion series with the artists and scientists that have been a part of our terminology-defying exhibition: Nature of Robotics: An Expanded Field. The exhibition’s curator, Giulia Bini, will be speaking with the creators of the artworks, every Thursday for the next 4 weeks.

For this inaugural talk, this coming Thursday, June 24 at 6 PM CEST, we invite you to join us for the first In Conversation with artist Basim Magdy.

The talk will dive into Magdy’s video works M.A.G.N.E.T and New Acid, 2019 and the reason for their inclusion in the conceptual framework of Nature of Robotics, touching upon the genesis of M.A.G.N.E.T, an oracular metaphor projecting us into the hypothetical scenario of an increase in gravity on our planet, and New Acid, both films metaphorically questioning the perspectives opened by scientific research.

The live conversation will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube, starting at 6 PM CEST.
